Oberwald ist the northernmost and, after Münster, the highest village in Goms. The frequently used term Obergoms has two meanings: On the one hand, it is the political municipality with the villages of Oberwald, Obergesteln and Ulrichen and, on the other hand, most people understand it to mean the entire cross-country skiing area in Goms from Niederwald to Oberwald.
