Snow sports intstructor with federal certificat for 25 years

At the turn of the millennium, Mathias completed his training as a cross-country skiing instructor and has been teaching in Oberwald ever since, and also in the rest of Goms / Obergoms on request. For several years, he also worked as a client advisor in his parents' sports shop, Koni Sport. This allowed him to learn a great deal about cross-country skis, poles, cross-country boots, wax, grinding, structures and suitable cross-country clothing.

Focus on cross-country skiing courses

After the sports shop was taken over by Cresenz and Adrian Andereggen in 2009 and renamed Pische Sport, Mathias was able to concentrate fully on his passion, cross-country skiing instruction. He teaches cross-country skiing in six languages (German, English, French, Spanish, Italian and sign language). In 2018, he founded the Mathias Hischier Cross-Country Skiing School with his business partner Roland Staub. The entire team has many years of proven success in methodology and teaching and makes you feel that all of them enjoy teaching cross-country skiing. They come from the cantons of Valais, Bern, Basel, Fribourg, Aargau, Zurich, Zug and Lucerne.

Cross-country skiing and yoga

In the 2018/19 season, Mathias had the opportunity to help organise the fourth edition of the cross-country skiing, yoga and snowshoeing seminar with Beatrix Bucher and Roland Staub. Roller skiing

Thanks to roller skiing, we no longer have to go without gliding for so many months of the year. Roller skiing is an excellent way to further refine your technique. Do you have time in Goms or in the greater Lucerne area?

Dancing

One of Mathias' great passions is dancing. Not a day goes by without him dancing. He particularly enjoys Latin American dances such as salsa cubana and bachata. But other standard dances such as lindy hop, swing, cha-cha-cha and tango are also very popular. He incorporates dancing into his warm-up and various exercises when cross-country skiing.

Stand Up Paddling (SUP)

Go with the flow. Mathias has been enjoying the peace and quiet of nature for several summers now. This is particularly enjoyable on a SUP. In the summer of 2021, he completed his Level 3 SUP instructor training. Cross-country skiing and SUP have a lot in common, such as the hip flexor. He regularly teaches on various Swiss lakes.
