We fulfil your cross-country skiing wishes
Whether you want to learn or improve your classic, cross-country or skating technique, there is plenty to choose from: private lessons for 1 to 4 people, group lessons, duration, method, intensity, breaks, video, meeting point, terrain, etc. You choose, we recommend.
Private lessons or groupe lessons
In advertising, terms such as ‘cross-country skiing course’, ‘cross-country skiing lesson’ and ‘cross-country skiing school’ often do not clearly indicate whether they refer to private lessons, small groups or larger groups. Our many years of experience show that this decision depends on your goals. If you want to make rapid progress, private lessons for one to four people are ideal, especially if your colleagues are at a similar level. However, if the focus is on fun and experiencing something new as a group, for example on a company outing or a weekend away with your sports club, group lessons, combined with our biathlon taster course, for example, are likely to be the best choice. Let us know what you need.
Duration
A 60-minute lesson is almost always finished just when the numerous exercises are taking effect and we are getting into the flow. This is the moment when the foundations for the greatest progress can be laid. That is why we recommend that most customers book 90- or 120-minute lessons. On request, we can also make video recordings, which you will receive with feedback.
Beginners' skating/classic method
In our cross-country skiing lessons for beginners, we place great importance on laying the foundations for easy progress, correct body position and body tension. Elements of cross-country skiing, yoga and dance come together here. You will be surprised how quickly you master the "boss position" – and with it your narrow skis. At the beginning, we usually stay in the same place, on a flat section of the trail not far from the Oberwald trailhead (100 metres next to Volg and Pische Sport, next to the Hotel Tannenhof). If you prefer, lessons can also start directly at the ticket office with changing rooms opposite Oberwald railway station or at another suitable location in a neighbouring village. This means that the surroundings remain the same at the beginning and we can concentrate fully on the cross-country skiing technique. The lessons are very systematic so that you can quickly feel confident and have fun. We start with the optimal body position (hereinafter referred to as the "boss position") and get used to shifting your weight – initially without skis. To ensure that the "boss position" quickly becomes second nature, we also give you exercises to practise at home.
Advanced skating/classic method
Once you have achieved good basic coordination, we can work on the fine details. We select different terrain and cover shorter distances, for example to reach the beautiful Pischäwald forest. Here we learn techniques such as climbing and descending.
Cross-country skiing instructors with a coaching approach
If there is enough time and the group is small, your personal cross-country skiing instructor can observe and analyse you at your own pace and guide you so that you can initiate changes yourself and learn new patterns that will stick.
Video analysis
Seeing yourself cross-country skiing is a great way to improve your technique. During our double lessons, we can make a video of you on request, which you will receive by email with feedback.
Why Goms / Obergoms / Oberwald?
Cross-country skiing in Goms, between Oberwald and Niederwald, is pure enjoyment at the highest level, as the 20 kilometres only have an elevation difference of 117 metres. Whether with friends, alone or with a local and expert cross-country skiing coach, the addictive potential should not be underestimated. Tell us what your expectations are, the possibilities are endless.
A few words about the terms Goms and Obergoms: The district of Goms comprises the municipalities of Obergoms (consisting of Oberwald, Obergesteln and Ulrichen), Goms (since 1 January 2017 consisting of Münster-Geschinen, Reckingen-Gluringen, Grafschaft, Blitzingen and Niederwald), Gletsch, Ernen, Binn, Bellwald, Fiesch, Fieschertal and Lax. This explains why many people refer to the Goms or Obergoms region, while others refer to individual villages. Let us show you the most beautiful spots.

We welcome feedback at the end of the lesson. What did you like best, where do you think we could improve?
